We Believe . . .
Jesus really lived, he really died on the cross and three days later he really rose from the dead.
All people are loved by God. We don’t judge people by where they have been – if you have tattoos or piercings – everyone is welcome here.
People who do not go to church are not bad people.
Some Christians have fallen away from the church for personal and deep reasons. We would like to help heal their wounds and revitalize their faith.
Salvation is not so much a “get out of hell free card” and is an invitation to live life to its fullest and in a loving relationship with God our creator.

A note from Dave Owsley, the Beacon UMC Pastor:
The Missouri United Methodist Conference has appointed Pastor Dave Owsley to the new church that WCC is helping to launch in Independence. Dave has been a pastor for seven years, serving the last six at Hope UMC in Lone Jack.
“About a year ago I felt God’s call to serve the people in Independence, MO,” Pastor Dave said. “I am excited to share in WCC’s vision to start a new church in Independence. Like Woods Chapel, the new church will be a place where we will have fun, connect people to Jesus Christ and fulfill the great commission: preach, teach, baptize and grow the kingdom of God.”
