Community Partners & Programs


Adopt a Child

An annual holiday opportunity to serve! Children from our Community Partners fill out a tag with a Christmas wish list. The tags are then made available on Sunday mornings for our congregation to pick them up and purchase the kids a Christmas gift.

Adopt a Grandparent

This annual holiday event aims to fulfill the wish lists of residents at Truman Lakewood Long Term Care! Residents fill out a tag with their wish list, then our congregation can pick them up and purchase the items for the resident!


Backsnacks provides food each weekend during the school year to kids experiencing food-insecurity.

Back to School Drive

This serve opportunity happens once a year at the end of the summer! In an effort to equip children with the tools needed for a successful school year, we collect backpacks and school supplies for children in our area!

Book in Hand Ministry

Book in Hand provides books to children in schools and non-profits.


A group who aims to come alongside under-resourced communities, individuals, families and offer a tangible expression of Christ's love by providing volunteers (skilled, semi and non-skilled labor) to complete construction-related projects and home repairs.

Difference Makers

Be a Difference Maker in the life of a student at one of our partner schools by being a reading buddy or mentor!

Fresh Start Furnishing

A program that provides a fresh start, hope and support to young people who have aged out of the foster care system by providing them with donated furniture & household items.

Grace United Community Ministries

The mission of Grace United is to work with families and individuals in the Kansas City, MO community to address their basic needs so as to empower them to break the cycle of poverty and live a purposeful life. We partner with them to prep and serve meal once a month.

Grace Place

A program for members of the community experiencing financial hardship. Grace place includes our Food Pantry, Children’s Clothing Closet, Budget Counseling, and Baby Grace Place.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing

Hillcrest is designed to educate and empower homeless families with the skills they need to reach self-sufficiency.

KU Cancer Center

Our Cancer Center Partnership coordinates, provides, and supports activities directly with the KU Cancer Center.

Just One

This group aims to raise money for items schools need, such as ear buds, backpacks, alarm clocks, uniforms, coats, heaters, clothing, etc. then delivering these items to the schools! You can be involved by donating funds, coats, mittens, hats, and gloves for school kids.


It is the mission of Neighbor2Neighbor to provide meals and meet other daily needs in the context of a supportive community among homeless and near-homeless persons in the 35th & Prospect area of Kansas City. We provide 50 sack lunches per week, as well as volunteers.

Prom Boutique

An event held in the Spring where Kansas City area teen girls pick out a free prom dress and accessories.

Quilting for Charity

A serving group that meets weekly to make quilts for cancer patients.

Ronald McDonald Family Room

Help provide warm meals to the families at Children's Mercy Hospital.

School Partnerships

A way to be involved with our local schools! This group aims to provide staff appreciation and addresses/meets the needs schools may have, such as reading buddies, materials, etc. This group also works with the schools and it’s organizations to host food pantry or toy drives.

Summer Lunch Program

Help feed kids in our community who may not have access to healthy food during the summer months by preparing and delivering lunches daily.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Annual drive for people to fill sacks with food to equip families with supplies needed to cook a Thanksgiving meal.
