Hey Church!

Every year about this time, we pause and talk about generosity. I know, nothing makes people lean forward quite like the pastor saying, “Let’s talk about money!” But generosity is about so much more than money. It’s about asking: What has God entrusted to me, and how can I use it to make a difference?

There is so much happening at Woods Chapel. New people are finding community, children and students are discovering faith, and our outreach is serving people locally and around the world. All of this happens when we do it together.

As we prepare for 2027, I’m asking everyone who calls Woods Chapel home to pray: “God, what do you want to do through me?” That may involve your time, abilities, and financial generosity. We also invite everyone to make a financial commitment for the coming year.

Janet and I plan to take another step in our generosity for 2027, and I invite you to consider doing the same. Maybe that means beginning to give, increasing what you already give, or simply becoming more intentional about generosity.

What excites me most is that generosity isn’t just about paying bills or balancing a budget. It’s about people. It’s about a child discovering they are known and loved. It’s about someone finding hope and community. It’s about a neighbor being treated with dignity. It’s about someone walking through our doors and discovering they belong. That’s what our generosity makes possible.

My hope is that you’ll pray about the part you can play in 2027. Because generosity doesn’t simply fund ministry—generosity becomes ministry. When we give, serve, and follow Jesus together, there’s no telling what God might do next.

It’s awesome serving Jesus with you!
