Puerto Rico Disaster Response Trip
June 22 - 29, 2019
On September 20th, 2017, Hurricane Maria (a category 4 hurricane) pummeled the island of Puerto Rico after wreaking havoc through the Leeward Islands. Several months later, areas of the island are still without power and access to clean water with the remote mountainous regions still dealing with hardship. Woods Chapel Church is partnering with Church of the Resurrection and the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico to assist in the re-building efforts.
Individuals with constructions skills are encouraged to apply.
Ages 18 & up are welcome!
Total anticipated cost = $1250-$1450
$850 trip fee (includes lodging, meals, in-country transportation, translators, and any material used in country).
A nonrefundable deposit of $300 is required after your application is accepted.
Approximately $400-600 airfare per person. (Resurrection will arrange the flight logistics so that the team is on the same flight.)

If you have questions about the deductibility of trip-related expenses, please contact your tax professional.
Nicaragua Family and Student Sponsorships
Family sponsorships provide nutrition, microloans, education, and medical care to our partner community Los Pinos. Student sponsorships allow children to reach an education past the fifth grade level. They also provide an opportunity for you to form a one-on-one relationship with a child in our of our beloved communities.
Russia Orphanage Ministry
Woods Chapel has been involved in Russian orphanage ministry since March 2002. Since Fall 2008, we have sponsored the Velikoretskoye orphanage in the Kirov region. Through our partnership with Children’s HopeChest, every child at Velikoretskoye is sponsored individually by families of Woods Chapel. Each November, a visit is made to the orphanage by families and representatives to meet the children and create a relationship with them.
For more information about sponsoring a child or visiting the orphanage, please contact Lindsay Evans.
